Need for the course
Data analysis and presentation constitute critical skills requirements for project managers/officers, M & E practitioners, scholars and researchers. How a professional analyses, interprets, and presents can data be the difference between average performance and competitive advantage; Indeed, the exponential levels at which data is being produced globally demands data managers who can model, transform information and visually communicate data in a variety of work environments convincingly and professionally using the most effective data analysis and presentation methods.
The delivery of this workshop is based on intensive exploration of content to give participants in-depth knowledge of concepts.
This workshop enables to do the following:
•Perform statistical analysis & present different types of data in an appropriate manner
•Identify areas/issues/situations where statistical analysis would be beneficial.
•Use your data and analytical ability to find and interpret rich data sources
•Present and communicate data insights and create visualizations to aid in the understanding of data
•Build mathematical models using the data
•Improve your creativity to clearly and compellingly display information
•Provide advice to decision makers on the implications of data for services, processes and decisions
•Understand how to apply relevant statistical techniques to solve the underlying problems/issues.
•Report on statistical findings
Summary Course Content
Day 1
•Introduction to Data Types, Data Measurements & Data Analysis
•The theory and practice of presenting data in graphical form
•The basic principles of economy, clarity, and integrity
Day 2
•Old types of graphs to avoid, new graph types: dot plot, scatter plot matrix, conditional plot, How to design effective graphs
•How to use R Statistical software graphical analysis and presentation
Day 3
•How to use SPSS Statistical software graphical analysis and presentation
•How to use STATA Statistical software graphical analysis and presentation
